The President has approved the composition of the National Council of Reforms by his Decree.
The Decree "Issue of the National Council of Reforms" of December 22 stipulates that the composition of the National Council of Reforms includes members who participate in the discussion of all issues and members who are invited to consider only several issues.
18 members of the Council will participate in the discussion of all issues. Among them are the President, the Chairman of Verkhovna Rada (upon consent), the Prime Minister, the Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, the Ministers of Economic Development and Trade, Finance, Justice, heads of a series of committees of Verkhovna Rada, Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Borys Lozhkin, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Oleksiy Filatov and Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, Secretary of the National Council of Reforms Dmytro Shymkiv.
The Council will also include NGO representatives: Executive Director of the European Business Association Anna Derevyanko, chief expert of the group "Anti-Corruption Legislation Reform" of the civic initiative "Reanimation Package of Reforms" Dmytro Kotliar, founder of the civic initiative "Ukrainian Foreign Universities Alumni Association "Professional Government" Daniyil Pasko, co-founder of the civic association "Nationwide Civil Platform "New Country" Valeriy Pekar.
36 members of the Council who will be invited to discuss several issues will also include heads of ministries and parliamentary committees.
Commenting on the Decree, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, Secretary of the National Council of Reforms Dmytro Shymkiv has informed that the first working session of the Council would be held on December 24. The participants of the first session will approve the strategic vision of Ukraine's development "Strategy of Reforms - 2020" and personal composition of the Executive Committee of the National Council of Reforms, discuss the implementation of a series of top-priority reforms and the fulfillment of the Association Agreement with the EU.
"The National Council of Reforms hasn't held its working sessions yet, for Ukraine had to elect new Verkhovna Rada and form new Cabinet of Ministers. Following the elections of October 26, the country has received new pro-European Parliament, which has approved new reformatory Government. At the moment, the National Council of Reforms is the only platform, which unites the President, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Parliament and NGO representatives. The task of the Council is to monitor the fulfillment of top-priority reforms and adopt collegiate decisions on the most important socio-economic issues of the country," Dmytro Shymkiv has noted.
